Mount Lawley Rear Bathroom & Laundry Renovation

Tucked at the rear of a Mount Lawley home, this bathroom and laundry renovation transformed two dated, separate spaces into a cohesive, elevated pairing full of warm timber tones, moody feature tile, and considered detail throughout.

The Brief

The project involved a full reconfiguration of the rear of the home: removing the existing wall between the bathroom and laundry, stripping back all existing fittings, fixtures, and tiles, and rebuilding both spaces from scratch — including new walls, a new shower nib, and new cornices throughout the bathroom.

The Bathroom

The bathroom is anchored by a striking teal Japanese impression mosaic feature wall from @wdtiles, run full height behind the vanity, paired with matt white rectified 300x600 wall tiles and Positano white matt floor tiles, also from WD Tiles.

A floating Florentine walnut vanity from @polytec carries a custom Glacier Flow benchtop from @caesarstone, fitted with two Byron bench-mount basins and Elysian wall mixers in brushed nickel from @abiinteriors. A Timberline Sanremo mirror cabinet with integrated LED lighting sits above, finished in matching Florentine walnut with a graphite interior and glass shelving.

The shower features a fully frameless screen with brushed nickel fittings, a Milani hand shower rail set, and a 400mm shower arm and head — both from ABI Interiors — alongside a freestanding Shenseki inset bath from Tradelink. A Toto smart toilet rounds out the fit-out, finished with a Milani toilet roll holder and matching towel ladder.

The Laundry

The laundry mirrors the bathroom's material palette for a seamless connection between the two spaces. Lower, tall, and wall cabinetry all run in the same Florentine walnut woodmatt finish from Polytec, topped with a matching Glacier Flow benchtop from Caesarstone.

A Rocher granite single bowl sink from Highgrove Bathrooms is paired with an Elysian commercial pull-out kitchen mixer from ABI Interiors, and the same Japanese impression mosaic tile from WD Tiles carries through as a splashback, tying the laundry visually back to the bathroom's feature wall.

All cabinetry throughout both spaces uses a fully handle-free, finger-pull design for a clean, streamlined look.

The Finishing Details

Every detail was considered — from warm white LED strip lighting underneath the vanity, to matte black power point skins to maintain a consistent, refined aesthetic throughout. Paint finishes were colour-matched in Dulux Vivid White across ceilings, doors, and walls, keeping the space bright and cohesive.

The Result

A rear bathroom and laundry that feel like a single, well-considered space rather than two separate rooms combining warm timber, natural stone, and moody feature tile into a result that's both practical and genuinely beautiful to live with.
